internationally

Following a highly successful launch in Australia, with sixteen newspapers using Ezyzine in 5-months and the National Association of Independent Publishers also launched with Ezyzine, Founding Director John Hancock has embarked on a 10-week world tour to rollout Ezyzine internationally. The trip will include Hong Kong, Finland, Sweden, Italy, Ireland, UK, France, Germany, Spain and the US.

"Ezyzine is designed by a publisher,", said John Hancock."We continue to respond to early customer feedback, recently appointing another three developers. We are hitting some exciting radars. I hope to have at least thirty-five new customers by the end of the year and I would like at least five of these to be from other countries."

22-05-08: Ezyzine launches website for National Association of
Indendepent Publishers, Australia.

Leading up to the inaugural conferences in Melbourne and Port Macquarie that established the National Association of Independent Publishers, Ezyzine software enabled the launch of a new site for NAIP, operating within 24 hours.

"The site allows publishers and suppliers to communicate, to advertise positions, products and events," said Ezyzine founder John Hancock. "This sharing of information is critical to the long term survival and growth of the independent publishing sector and I am proud to be part of this movement. The conferences were highly successful and we noted 38 registered publishers on the new site in the week of its launch. This is an exciting time."

The next gathering for NAIP is mid September in Sydney Australia. For further details, visit www.naip.com.au .

14-04-08: Ezyzine signs up group of papers in SA

Following a successful trial of the website content management system Ezyzine, Naracoorte's sister publications Coastal Leader and Border Chronicle took the plunge. On the previous Friday afternoon management requested sites for their other two papers, by Monday morning all papers were live!

"Site looks great, and quite quick", said Sue Waite, manager for Naracoorte Herald. Sara Bricknell, in charge of integration of the new site into the business operations, commented "I am loving this new website, easy and effective!!"

This brings the total number of mastheads now using Ezyzine to twelve, not a bad effort since completion of v.1 at the end of 2007.

25-02-08: Seven customers in a matter of weeks

In a matter of weeks Wordzine has signed up seven independent publishers onto its user-friendly publishing system Ezyzine. 'The Word' newspaper, Australia's first publication to adopt the system, now already ranks No.1 on Google Australia and No.2 on Google International.

Founding director John Hancock was pleased with the early response. "This is a good early indication of what is in store for independent publishers. The publishing landscape is changing. The more excited they get about Ezyzine, the more developers we throw at it to build on their wish list."

"The Ezyzine software is simple, powerful and makes sense!" Gail, Monaro Post

"From our own research… it is clear to me that the Ezyzine software is really the first software package to thoroughly address the content and sales management needs for community newspaper publishers." Lawrence, Alternative Media Group

Ezyzine launches a new web template in the upcoming weeks, with more functionality.

Following extensive consultation and meetings with publishers across NSW, Vic, SA, WA and Qld, Ezyzine today launched the new look template for its publishers. Ezyzine's first customer, The Word, is now enjoying top No.1 rankings on Google and other search engines, with traffic and content on the rise.

"The new look provides us with a world class publishing site. With fresh articles, images and videos going live daily we provide our readers with a relevant and compelling destination," says designer Leonie Van Ash. "In addition our writers submit their stories and images remotely and I select the best ones for our print edition. It's great!"

28-10-07: Ezyzine v2 launched

Ezyzine v2, a web-based community newspaper and website publishing system, launched today. Wordzine, the creator of Ezyzine, was founded in November 2005 with a vision to enhance independent publishers businesses through the power of the internet.

Wordzine has a strong community newspaper heritage. Since August 2004 the team has published "The Word" a free, 40-page, full colour, monthly distributed to over 850+ monitored sites across Canberra and surrounding regions. Many of the ideas for Ezyzine came from the real-world requirements of The Word.

John Hancock

John Hancock, Founder and General Manager of Wordzine, returned this week from a whirlwind tour of regional Australia. Covering 16,000 km of bitumen and 9,000 km in the air over the past eleven weeks, Mr Hancock met with over 70 other independent publishers to introduce Ezyzine to them.

Publisher feedback has been very strong. Ezyzine eliminates the vast majority of technology ownership costs and removes the technology risk for companies. By providing standardised systems and processes the publisher is provided with an immediate return on investment. With no client software to install and support, applications can be deployed faster and upgraded centrally.

"Our sales girls were able to use the website initially to close deals on the print advertisements, but now actually sell the online advertising in addition to their print sales. Our 'added value' is now real, added revenue." said Carola Vamvakaris, Production Manager at The Monaro Post one of the early adopters of Ezyzine.

"We are also starting to leverage the advertising metrics, providing our advertisers with detailed campaign statistics" said Gail Eastaway, Editor for The Monaro Post. "The team at Wordzine have been attentive and have acted upon our feature requests. The fact that the whole system is hosted for us and accessed via a browser is a bonus!"

Ezyzine brings together content & sales management functionality that meets a publisher's needs for their print and online editions. Ezycontent is the content management system within Ezyzine. It allows users (reader contributors or journalists) to create content, have that content screened through a formal workflow process and finally approved for public display and possible print publication. Ezysales is the sales and advertising tracking system within Ezyzine.

"Ezyzine helps independent publishers be more productive," said Mr. Hancock. "By leveraging the power of the internet we integrate the online and print worlds and turn publisher's websites into profit centres."
